Who is authorised to access (research or health) data and how is this access regulated? Who is responsible for this? How must the protection of subjective rights change? Which data access must be facilitated, and which must be more strictly controlled? These questions affect society and science in equal measure.
The interdisciplinary workshop will comment on and discuss the project group’s forthcoming volume of the same name.

The lecture series explores the ambivalent relationship between (digital) capital markets and (digital) democracy as well as the effects that evolving capital markets have on distribution issues. It reconstructs the history of capital markets and states as controversial as they were in earlier times and as they are today, on the one hand from the perspective of science, on the other hand it is also about a representation of facts and debates that is accessible to citizens. The lecture provides ways how to describe the issues at hand, raises the question of the objectives and means by which (digital) capital markets are (or should be) regulated and deals with the issues of prosperity and distributive justice in a digital world.

This conference will focus on the interim results of the TOSCA project group from the fields of economics, business administration and law. Important voices from the practical field will complement the conference. We will welcome guests from UNIDROIT, the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority and Gleiss Lutz.
The focus will be on the legal nature and liability of tokenised Voluntary Carbon Credits (VCCs) and a review of use cases for tokenised VCCs.
