TOKENIZATION – Practical Knowledge for SMEs and Startups (KrypToFi)

The TOKENIZATION – Practical Knowledge for SMEs and Startups (KrypToFi) project is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups and offers a comprehensive training program for the legally secure mapping of assets on blockchain networks. The aim of the project is to provide SMEs and startups with legal certainty in the area of tokenization, so that they can effectively use the various possibilities offered by blockchain technology. Although tokenization offers promising opportunities, uncertainties remain, for example regarding legal frameworks such as regulatory approval requirements, company and securities law, and European regulations. In order to overcome these hurdles, KrypToFi is developing a practical toolbox that provides companies with practical solutions and legal guidance.

The project aims to provide the technical and legal skills needed to implement tokenization projects. In addition to a scientifically based training program that provides comprehensive knowledge to decision-makers in the banking and finance industry, the project also aims to intensify knowledge transfer to politics and administration. A policy paper will identify existing legal barriers and provide concrete recommendations for action. Led by a team of scientists from the Philipps-Universität Marburg and the Technische Universität Darmstadt, KrypToFi draws on years of research and international expertise in the field of blockchain and tokenization, which the team members have gained in other normative research projects on tokenization and blockchain and in policy consulting. The KrypToFi project is not only intended to support companies, but also to strengthen the innovative power of the financial center of Hesse.

KrypToFi is a project of the Technische Universität Darmstadt and the Philipps-Universität Marburg. It is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union.
