Workshop

The workshop “Akteure algorithmisch vorbereiteter Entscheidungen” hosted by ZEVEDI project group Diffusion of Responsibility through Algorithms deals with the question of which actors shape the development and use of algorithms and which possibilities of regulation exist in this respect. The influence of different actors is discussed with selected experts and the distribution of responsibility and liability for the use of algorithms are debated.

The virtual workshop “AI & Finance” hosted by ZEVEDI project group AI & Finance – Innovation, Resilience and Responsibility deals with Artificial Intelligence as one of the key drivers of modern finance. The workhop mainly focuses on the recent EU Proposal for an Artificial Intelligence Act and on credit scoring.

The conference “Machtverschiebung durch algorithmische Systeme – gefangen zwischen Kontrolle und Vertrauen. Eine internationale Perspektive” hosted by ZEVEDI project group Diffusion of Responsibility through Algorithms deals with various aspects of the use of algorithms and the associated actors, and examines them in lectures, impulses and commentaries in a comparative law and interdisciplinary manner with a special focus on Brazil.

The Research Center for Information Technology Design (ITeG) at Universität Kassel and the German Society for Computer Science (GI) are organising the lecture series “Digital Society – A Design Challenge”. In these lectures renowned representatives from different disciplines present their research and conclusions with an explicit sociotechnical focus.

Prof. Dr. Christoph Becker’s lecture is organised by ZEVEDI project group Sustainable Intelligence – Intelligent Sustainability. It focusses on the role of IT in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, highlights some promising opportunities and asks whether IT is ready to live up to its promise.
