Duration: November 2022 until April 2024
The legally secure linking of assets with blockchain tokens (tokenisation) is a key area of innovation and application for blockchain technology. In this way, a security can be created in a functional sense that does not require the classic certificate in paper form. Tokenisation is of particular importance in the area of financial markets, as a significantly expanded range of assets can become marketable and tradable as a result; at the same time, the elimination of intermediaries and further process automation could yield visible efficiency gains. The project group has conducted extensive research into the normative, legal policy and technical-conceptual implications of the phenomenon of tokenisation for the financial markets. The group not only held nationally and internationally visible conferences and workshops, but its members also published three anthologies with a total of around 650 printed pages and contributions by 39 authors via open access.

Young Researchers Thesis Speed Dating 2:25 pm – 3:25 pm
On May 22, the first Blockchain Horizons: INATBA’s Academic and R&D Forum will take place in Darmstadt. Experts from around the world will discuss the potential deployment of DLT for various sectors and present current research at the Congress Center Darmstadtium. As part of a side event organized by the Center Responsible Digitality (ZEVEDI), we invite young researchers to present their research in a speed dating format. A time slot of 7 minutes is available for each “date”, after which participants will rotate. Exchange ideas, network, find project partners – all in a casual setting.
Participation in the ZEVEDI side event requires a valid ticket for the Blockchain Horizons: INATBA’s Academic and R&D Forum. The first 20 participants who sign up below will receive a free ticket from ZEVEDI. You do not need to purchase a ticket yourself and will not receive a refund for tickets already purchased. Transatlantic Blockchain Law
Conference Proceedings | 15. Februar 2023
The “Transatlantic Blockchain Summit” took place in New York at the beginning of October 2022. It was part of the BMJ research project “Blockchain and Law”, which has been conducted at the Marburg Institute for the Law of Digitalisation since 2020. Around 30 academics, (legal) advisors and entrepreneurs from both sides of the Atlantic took part in the lectures, panel discussions and expert talks.
This publication is a collection of brief reports from the auditorium represented by staff members of the BMJ project. It aims at tracing the central lines of discourse and making them accessible to a broader professional public. At the same time, it is intended as a starting point and inspiration for ZEVEDI project group Tokenized Finance (ToFi).
